I do. Yeah, sure Stephen Malkmus and Scott Kannberg are still around and still making decent music, and Bob Nastanovich is probably still running the Lucky Lavender tip-sheet, but it’s not the same. Which brings me to Hockey Night. People will say shit like, “I liked this band… when they were called Pavement.” But don’t you listen to them, even if they are right. ‘Cause it’s not the same. It must be noted that the singer’s voice and vocal delivery have an uncanny resemblance to Stephen Malkmus while he (just like Malkmus) is backed by loose, free-spirited, and almost unhinged indie rock music. How can you not like that? Their arrangement works so well, and is always one I am found of. Two guitars, one bass and two drummers…it just creates such a rich and full aural experience.
